Introduction to 35mm SLR Film photography course, based in Berkhamsted.
If you’re thinking of trying something new this is a beginners guide to using 35mm film. No experience is needed, both the camera and film are provided, just bring yourself. We will meet in Berkhamsted for a film loading demonstration and to help you set up the camera.
I'll explain film speeds and types and what are the differences between colour negative, positive and B&W film. Show you how to control the aperture and shutter to achieve the correct exposure.
The two hour session will be an excellent taster to see if you want to take up 35mm film photography further. Walking around Berkhamsted with easy to follow exercises, focused mainly on exposure and composition.
The course is ideal for anyone looking to try something new in photography.
Course price includes the film, developing and thumbnails of your negatives so you can view your pictures.

Costs are incurred when we run our training courses and for this reason we are unable to offer any refund in the event of your non-attendance on the day of the course you have purchased. This is irrespective of your circumstances or reasons. If we receive notice one month before the date of your course that you unable to attend and we are able to fill your place then we will issue a credit note for an alternative course. If you are unable to attend with six months of the course date we will issue no further credit notes.
We reserve the right to remove, cancel or alter the date of any of our training courses, we will inform you of alternative dates and depending on the circumstances of the cancellation issue a full refund or credit note for a similar course.
If the course is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions we will offer another date for the course or a credit note for a similar course.
All vouchers much be used with in 12 months of the date of purchase. Vouchers can be used to contribute to part or full payment of a course or 1:1 session.
Although every care will be provided by YellowMelen and Philip Richardson, no responsibility will be accepted for any indirect loss or damage caused to your equipment. As the client you will need adequate insurance against the loss or damage of your equipment.
You will need to provide your own food on the training days as MelenCourses does not offer this facility. When we are on location there will be a break for lunch near cafes and restaurants and you are more than welcome to bring your own food.
