MelenCourses Photography Diploma Course Do you want to change career and become a professional photographer? Who is the course for? The aim of the MelenCourses Photography Diploma is to provide you with a portfolio of photographs to start your new photography career. You will have some photographic experience, your own DSLR, a computer with the relevant post production software and keen interest in photography. There is a demand from you to commit fully, allowing time each week to complete the assignments and to attend the dates set out for the course, we do run some courses several times a year. For photographers who have limited photography experience and would like to join the diploma, please contact us as you may be able to attend after attend some of the beginner courses. Learning and course content How to become a professional photographer. Over the 12 month course you will learn new photography techniques which will enable you to fully understand your camera, lenses and speedlites, studio lighting, portraiture, wedding photography, post production software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom 3 or Apple Aperture 3 and gain the essential business acumen needed to start your business. The skills learned on the MelenCourses Photography Diploma will give you the ability to create your own photographic portfolio and help you to develop your own photographic style. You will be able to use the studio and kit for the during of the 12 month diploma, which could be used for family portrait sessions either as practise or earn assignments. The course contents are created using my own experience from running a photography business, my photography degree and from teaching an A Level in Photography. There is a minimum of 2 hours personal tuition (about 55 hours overall) to be used within three weeks of the course date, and four hours for your Personal Projects. We are also available on Skype and iChat, by phone and also email if you need to talk to us before submitting a module. The Personal Projects are a great vehicle to practise new ideas, create portfolios and to establish your photographic style. Aim of the course We will be focusing on making the sessions informative and fun where you will accompanied by photographers of a similar level and interest to yourselves. On completion of the diploma you will have gained a high level of photographic knowledge, a portfolio consisting of prints, books, albums and a website to display to your clients, with all the images being created by you. You will be expected to Practise your photography for about four hours each week and allocate about two hours for photography theory each week. As part of MelenCourses Photography Diploma you will be given 1-2-1 time with a tutor, which must be used with in three weeks of the course date: Two hours of personal tuition with each module from (2-4) Four hours of personal tuition for each Personal Projects module (5) Other Courses There are other courses provided by MelenCourses with are not included in the diploma which you may attend such as the National Trust days, the Free Photography ‘Days Out’, our workshops and seminars. Cost £2750 Four places available for 2012 and The course is payable in monthly instalments over 12 months so please ask for details.
Intermediate to advanced, you will need to understand photography to a competent level. Equipment Needed DSLR, lenses covering at least 18-135mm, flashgun, computer, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture 3, cards and spare batteries. A TTL cable or wireless receivers, and a monopod or tripod would be useful. If you don't have any of the equipment above you may be able to use the equipment in the studio.
