Learn new skills with your DSLR camera combined with walking around the beautiful National Trust woodland of the Ashridge Estate. You will need some DSLR photography experience with knowledge of ISO, white balance, aperture and shutter speed control.
This course concentrates on learning to control exposures to help you to produce creative images with your camera. Discover how apertures, shutter speeds, filters and macro can transform your photography. We will start by learning about the benefits of RAW files, then how the camera reads the exposure and how you learn to control it. You will need some understanding of Apertures, Shutter Speeds, Stops and ISO. The next stage will demonstrate how you can use shutter creatively to produce different effects. You will then learn how to use ND and ND Grad filters and exploring the landscape creating more balanced exposures. This is followed by macro photography using Kenko Extension Tubes or a macro lens if you have one. We end with basic flash control so please bring along your flash gun if you have one.
In the afternoon we will walk about 3 miles through Ashridge woodland learning about filters and macro photography, giving you a chance to learn more about the woodland at Ashridge National Trust and practise your skills!
