Get more out of outdoor photography using filters and slow shutters speeds.
Photographing with filters and slow shutter speeds can enhance your images, you can learn how to darken skies and blur waterfalls. The exercises are easy to follow, you won’t need much experience and will improve your landscape photography.
Create a 'Blurred Water' effect using tripods and slow shutter speeds, understanding how to select the right shutter speed. Next using Verlamium Park and Verluam lake darken skies emphasise features in the landscape with graduated ND filters. All filters are provided.
After a short break for lunch (please bring your own), we will using the Roman walls and park find interesting compositions and subjects, photographing with a shallow depth of field.

Full Frame or Cropped cameras, lenses should be suitable for a wide angle and telephoto shot. Ideally covering at least 18-100mm, email me for advice.
Micro four thirds cameras
All mirrorless cameras with PSAM modes are suitable. The lens focal length should cover at least 14mm for a wide angle and 50mm for a telephoto.
Equipment you need to bring
Tripod for slow shutter photography, a fast lens with a maximum aperture of ƒ1.4, ƒ2.0 or ƒ2.8 if you are unsure please ask me for guidance.

Costs are incurred when we run our training courses and for this reason we are unable to offer any refund in the event of your non-attendance on the day of the course you have purchased. This is irrespective of your circumstances or reasons. If we receive notice one month before the date of your course that you unable to attend and we are able to fill your place then we will issue a credit note for an alternative course. If you are unable to attend with six months of the course date we will issue no further credit notes.
We reserve the right to remove, cancel or alter the date of any of our training courses, we will inform you of alternative dates and depending on the circumstances of the cancellation issue a full refund or credit note for a similar course.
If the course is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions we will offer another date for the course or a credit note for a similar course.
All vouchers much be used with in 12 months of the date of purchase. Vouchers can be used to contribute to part or full payment of a course or 1:1 session.
Although every care will be provided by YellowMelen and Philip Richardson, no responsibility will be accepted for any indirect loss or damage caused to your equipment. As the client you will need adequate insurance against the loss or damage of your equipment.
You will need to provide your own food on the training days as MelenCourses does not offer this facility. When we are on location there will be a break for lunch near cafes and restaurants and you are more than welcome to bring your own food.
